Meet Dr. McWatTers

Dr. McWatters was born and raised outside of Charleston, West Virginia. He attended West Virginia University for undergraduate studies of exercise physiology, where he then completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Prior to starting residency, he married his high school sweetheart who also graduated from WVU with a masters degree in elementary education.

After four years in the sunshine state, Dr. McWatters completed his training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida. He gained knowledge and comprehensive training in dental surgery, traumatic and pathologic reconstruction, pediatric and outpatient anesthesia, as well as corrective jaw surgery. He had the unique opportunity to learn the full scope of dental implant rehabilitation at the distinguished University of Florida Center for Implant Dentistry with restoration-driven planning while working with the world’s most innovative technology.

Outside of work, Dr. McWatters enjoys spending time with his family, as him and his wife recently welcomed their first child. They enjoy traveling, live music, and exploring new restaurants. His favorite activity is playing soccer, as he is an avid supporter of Manchester United and his alma mater, WVU Mountaineers.

Dr. McWatters strives to treat every patient with compassion and has adopted a personal philosophy from his mentor, “treat others the way you want to be treated, do everything to the best of your ability, and always do what is right.” He believes practicing by these core values coupled with surgical expertise cultivates positive patient experience and successful outcomes.
